Epiphany Catholic Church Acoustical Model
Acoustical Model & Renovation Proposal
Coon Rapids, Minnesota
Working with the Church of the Epiphany in Coon Rapids, Minnesota I created a 3D Model for purposes of acoustical modeling to determine the best place to locate the choir and piano. The church is currently the third largest Catholic Church in Minnesota, and has a seating capacity for nearly 3,000 people. Due to the size of the sanctuary, severe echoing is caused by the large space and reverberations from the large wood structural beams presented a challenge that required the need for computer analysis. The results of the analysis will be used to determine future space planning.
The created model will also be used to help represent future remodeling projects that are being planned. Rendering and animation possibilities for the purpose of analysis and fundraising efforts will be used in the future.
